I found a little lost and hungry baby bird on my driveway. It was completely helpless - it couldn't even see yet. My sisters and I rescued it, safely returning it to its sisters and brothers.

Poor little bird. >_< Were you sure not to touch it directly? The mother bird wouldn't take care of it anymore if you did. I hope its doing alright though, the baby bird that is. ^^

Yes, we used latex gloves. We're going to check the nest in a couple of days to see if the chicks are still alive.

My father was no help at all. >.< We went in and asked him for help two times and what he said was "Do you want me to let the dog out? She'll take care of it." and "I'll help you bring it into the other field so a predator can get it." Hmph, there's a difference between letting nature take its course and letting a baby bird starve to death on your driveway.
